Surviving Auschwitz, You Had to Have Guts

Rose Schindler, a Holocaust Survivor, was born Ruska Schwartz in 1929 in Seredne, Czechoslovakia (now Ukraine). Rose was deported to Auschwitz along with her parents, aunt, five sisters and two brothers when she was just 14 years old. Rose is a Holocaust educator. She has been speaking at schools, with military, religious and fraternal organizations about her experience as a Survivor.
Rose continues to speak to schools and other groups about her Holocaust experience, in July 2019 published her and Max’s Memoir: “Two Who Survived; Keeping Hope Alive While Surviving the Holocaust” and continues to make a difference in the San Diego community.
