What is TEDxUCSD?
x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

This year’s theme is “A Space in the Spectrum.” As humans, we sometimes struggle to reconcile the extremities of our existence; the significance of our immediate lives often gets overshadowed by our triviality within the universe. The space left for us in the grand scheme of things isn’t much. But it is here, in this precarious balancing act, that we find perspective and ourselves. We can't hope to answer all the unknowns, but we can, however, fill in the space left for us.
